I've never used self storage before. How does it work?

Self-storage facilities rent space on a short-term or long-term basis to individuals or businesses. Rent starts on the day you move in and is prorated till the end of the month and moving forward, the rent is paid on the first of every month.

Do you have a unit to suit my needs?

We have a range of unit options and sizes. Drive up units, heated units, and parking for cars, boats, RVs and trailers. Give us a call and one of our rental experts will help you secure the storage unit that works best for you. How much notice do you need before I move in?

No notice is necessary however it is a good idea to reserve a unit to avoid disappointment. You can reserve a unit online, in person or by telephone. Reservations can be modified or changed based on your need depending on availability.

What type of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a space?

Riel Park RV & Self Storage requires a government issued photo ID (example: driver's license or passport).

Do I need to bring my own lock?

You may bring your own lock however we also have locks available for purchase in our rental office at very reasonable prices.

Can I pay my bill online?

To pay your bill online, please click on the My Account link on the top right corner of the main screen to begin this quick and simple process.

If you are an existing user, you will be prompted to enter your username and password. If you are a first time user, you must click on the “Claim Account” button and complete the mandatory fields.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept the following payment types:

  • Cash
  • VISA
  • Mastercard
  • Interac Debit
  • Preauthorized Bank Debit

What is my responsibility if my address changes?

You are responsible for informing us of any change to your contact information as soon as possible.

Do I need to insure my vehicle while it’s in storage?

Yes, all vehicles that are stored at Riel Park RV & Mini Storage must have proof of insurance through your vehicle insurance provider.

How should I pack my things for storage?

Carefully. For protection we recommend placing a tarp on the floor of your unit. Do not pack anything in your outdoor unit that requires heated storage.

Are there any restricted items?

Yes. Please refrain from storing anything flammable, food, plants, or any other living things. Storage units are for furniture, documents, and household items. If there is a specific item you are curious about please talk to a staff member.

What if I forget my gate access code?

Come into the office with your ID and we will provide you with it.

Do I require insurance?

Yes, you need specific content insurance. Many homeowner or renter policies do not cover items stored at a self storage facility. Get peace of mind knowing your items are covered for a low monthly premium of $10.00 per month for $10,000 worth of coverage. If your homeowner policy does provide this coverage, simply provide us with a copy of your certificate of insurance within 30 days and we will waive the insurance fee.

Do I need to sign a long-term lease?

No, we do not require any long term commitment.

Do you sell packing supplies?

Yes, we sell boxes, locks, packing paper, bubble wrap, mattress covers and much more. Visit our rental office to pickup all your moving and packing supplies.

What is the procedure for moving out?

At Riel Park RV & Mini Storage we require 30 days notice that you plan on vacating your storage unit. We do however realize plans change, if your plans change please call and let our rental office know. Once your unit is empty, you must inform the rental office so that a unit inspection can be conducted.

Do you have a referral program?

Most definately! We greatly appreciate referrals to your family, friends and business associates. For each new client you refer we will issue a $50 credit on account for both you and your friend as long as your friend rents for a minimum of 3 months. This credit can be used towards future rent, merchandise or other services.
